Great result for the Oakmere team yesterday, March 7th,but the real winner were the Golf courses. The event was played over both courses using the Commanders course and the front 9 of the Admirals course. 3 days earlier both courses were closed and covered in snow. Considering this both courses were applauded to be in excellent condition. The Commanders course in particular was excellent, you could almost walk out in a pair of socks without getting your feet wet. The Admirals course was slightly wetter, greens softer and slower but considering that there are still courses closed in the county its a testament to the work of our green staff and also the bunter sandstone .
Oakmeres Admirals team won comfortably moving them up to 2nd place in the order of merit.
Andy Willey won the best Pro’s score on the day with 39pts, Daryl was 6th on 35pts. very good score from team member Phil Cooper of 38pts.
The Commanders team came in 4th and currently lying 6th in the order of merit. Unfortunately with Jamie Jarvis pulling out and poor business during the transfer window in January this may have slowed their progress to overtake the Admirals team
Next event Mapperley..
